Post for April 9th 2012

Just something I did a study of a friend of mine. I like the shape of his head.
Nothing really deep content wise to comment on. This study is in one of my moleskine sketch books.

I always forget to talk about this guy when people ask me who my influences are, and I actually own one of his Art books.

Harry Bush is an artist who came from a military background during the 1960's in San Francisco  and then pursued his interest in art. Another artist thats similar to him is Tom Of Finland who I blogged about earlier in the semester.  He works with gay culture and themes in erotica. I admire the energy and authority in his figures each having strong personalities. The studies are simply fantastic. I would place him in a concept art genre or illustrative area but I do admire the figures very much in a traditional context.
